Mt. Arbel

History And Geography:  Mt. Arbel is located in the northern part of the country, in the Lower Galilee, the mount is very close to Tiberias
Mt. Arbel rises to 181 meters above sea level and about 390 meters above the sea of galiee.
In front of Mt. Arbel  Mt. Nitay called after Nitay Haarbely who was among the members of the Sanhedrin during the Second Temple, who lived in the area.
In the area there also is Arbel river that is 10 km long, there are also some villages around the area like Kfar Zeitim, Kfar Hitim, Arbel and Mizpe.

Mt.  Arbel is made of dolomite limestone that was formed 40 million years ago, during the Eocene (the new dawn), and contains Nodolot of Flint.
Nodolot - some part of a sedimentary rock.
Flint- a type of sedimentary rock.
Sedimentary rock - rock formed from the material of another rock.
Mt. Arbel was created from volcanic eruptions that occurred during the Miocene and Hfeliokn.
  The climate in the area: a fairly mild climate, Mediterranean,inviting tourists in every time of the year , the place known also as  the place of the battlebetween Herod and his opponents, supporters of Antigonus, Antigonus himself was in Jerusalem and he didn't help  his supporters at all.
During the Roman and Byzantine period there were Jewish settlements there.

In the northern part of the mountain, near the settlement of Arbel, found the remains of the ancient city which was an ancient synagogue, which was in used until the eighth century, and in addition were water retention ponds, agricultural installations, tombs and burial caves.
